  What is done: The mechanic pressure-tests the radiator, inspects hoses for leaks, radiator cap for proper sealing, checks coolant level, checks water pump for leaks or wear and all drive belts for tension and condition. Radiators emptied and cleaned out of coolant and fresh coolant is put in its place uses up to 3 litres of coolant
Frequency : (NIL to do with kms) needs to be done b/w 12-18 months.
Reason: Coolant can become acidic over time and once this happens will cause rusting to occur which damages the radiator and means you have to replace your radiator. More importantly, if radiator and hose leaks are not repaired when detected, serious damage can also occur to the water pump and then the engine can be ruined.
